Thurber awarded degree from Providence
Emily Thurber of Madison was recently among more than 900 graduates of Providence College who received undergraduate degrees. Thurber was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing, Magna Cum Laude.
Baird accepted to West Point workshop
Matthew D. Baird, Sparkman High School junior, was recently selected to attend the Invitational Academic Camp (IAC) at West Point Military Academy this summer. Thousands of students applied for selection, but only 400 were accepted. Baird will also attend wrestling camp while attending the IAC. He is enrolled in the dual enrollment program and was recently nominated by SHS Principal Steve Holland and the Military Order of the World Wars to attend a Youth Leadership Camp at Florida State University. Baird is active in both athletic and academic activities at SHS and hopes to attend West Point after graduation.
Faulkner announces May graduates, academic achievement
The following Madison students received their degrees from Faulkner University in May: Sherry Densmore, B.B.A. with honors; Thomas Limmer, B.B.A; and Ronnie Pettus, M.S.M.
The following Madison students were recognized for their academic achievements during the spring semester at Faulkner University: President's list-Janet Lea Kather, Marvin Ray Lockett, Dion Nehemiah, Canzada D. Pendergrass, and Sean Lewayne Pendergrass; Dean's list-Curtis L. Baker, Vervena Anita King, Gregory Antoine Love, and Christine Marie Stephens.
