Parkway Place Mall announces web site
The new Parkway Place Mall web site, www.parkwayplacemall.com, is up and running.
Customers can log onto the site to check out a number of informational links regarding the new mall. Among those links is a store directory, upcoming special events, and mall news and job listings.
"The web site is definitely a useful tool for customers to utilize pre-opening information," said Sherri Williams, CMD, mall marketing director. "We are getting several calls a day asking for store listings and job opportunities. We are finally able to direct people to the site in an effort to keep the public informed."
Parkway Place Mall is set to open Oct. 16. After it's completion, the mall will have more than 650,000 square feet of space anchored by Parisian and Dillard's. It will have more than 75 small shops and a food court located on the former Parkway City Mall site at Drake Avenue and South Memorial Parkway in Huntsville.
Boeing wins $2.6 million NASA contract
Boeing of Huntsville has been awarded a $2.6 million NASA contract, part of a larger $10.8 million Alternate Access to Space contact award.
The award, part of NASA's Space Launch Initiative, managed by the Marshall Space Flight Center, is for investigating expanded options for delivery of supplies to the International Space Station.
Huntsville is one of 25 cities across the nation to receive $400,000 to prepare for rapid, coordinated medical response to large-scale public emergencies.
The contracts, totaling $10 million are being awarded from the Department of Health and Human Services and are for the development of Metropolitan Medical Response Systems. This round of funding to 25 cities across the nation brings the total number of cities in the system to 122. Local governments primarily pay the Metropolitan Medical Response System, and this funding will help cities expand their response systems.
