Madison County's unemployment rate for the month of September dropped to 4.1 percent, down .1 percent from the month of August and above the 3.4 percent recorded a year ago.
Alabama's unemployment rate for September remained at 5.7 percent, unchanged from the August rate, and above the 5.5 percent recorded a year ago. September's rate represents 121,800 unemployed persons in the state.
Neighboring Limestone County saw a .1 percent increase in its unemployment rate at 4.9 percent for the month of September. Limestone County's unemployment rate a year ago in September was 4.3 percent.
Morgan County's unemployment rate dropped to 6.5 percent for the month of September, down .2 percent from the month of August and above the 5.5 percent recorded a year ago.
