Locally born actress to be in Madison Meet Huntsville born actress Felicia Day, at the Madison Public Library on Saturday, June 14, from 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Day will be at the library to tell her story about achieving her dream. Day appeared as "Scout" in Huntsville Little Theatre's production of "To Kill a Mockingbird," at age seven. She is schooled in ballet, plays the violin and has a degree in mathematics. Free summer workshop available for students Virginia College at Huntsville will conduct a four-day, complimentary summer workshop for high school students, beginning July 14. People, animals talent search to be held Harvest Feed Mill will host a national talent search for "People and Their Amazing Animals" on Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Festivities will include pony rides, face painting, free pet food samples, entertainment and special promotions. County property tax protests to be heard The appraised valuations of all property listed for taxation in Madison County have been fixed as provided by law and filed in the tax assessor's office. The board of equalization will begin hearing protest on any of the valuations through July 31. Protests must be filed in writing in the tax assessor's office. Host families needed Pacific Intercultural Exchange is seeking host families for high school foreign exchange students for the 2003-2004 school year. Exchange students are 15-18 years old, speak English, have their own spending money and health insurance. Financial management workshops offered A one-day effective financial management workshop will be held at the Huntsville Heritage Club on Wednesday, June 25, from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.The workshop is designed to provide insight into financial concepts that will aid decision-making for business owners of small-to medium-sized enterprises. Topics covered include: key financial performance indicators, cash flow planning, cost driver analysis, return on investment assessment, and product and customer profitability evaluation. Cost is $200 for Heritage Club members, $250 for non-members. A continental breakfast and lunch will be included. The Heritage Club is located at 111 Washington St.
