St. John the Baptist Catholic Church * There will be a parish festival following the 5:30 p.m. mass on Saturday, June 21, and the church will mark the Feast Day of St. John the Baptist, with a special mass at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, followed by an ice cream social. The festival will take place outdoors on the church grounds and will include a family potluck style meal with games, activities and time to fellowship. The parish will provide hamburgers and hot dogs. To assist with the potluck, parishioners whose name begins with the letters A-I are asked to bring a vegetable dish; J-Q, a salad; and R-Z a dessert.
The Feast Day mass on June 24 will be celebrated by guest celebrant, newly ordained Fr. Michael Wrigley. The ice cream social will follow in the Parish Hall. For more information about either event, contact St. John's church office at 722-0130.
Madison Free Will Baptist Church * Are you ready to become an Xkid? An eXtreme Kids Crusade for all ages will be held by the June 22-26 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be prizes, games and puppets. For more information, call Betty Lowery at 830-1486. Madison Christian Church * Intermediate guitar classes will be during the summer on Thursday evenings. The cost is $40 per person. The tentative schedule is: June 26, July 10, July 24, Aug. 7 and Aug.21. Asbury United Methodist Church * The Prime-Timer trip to the Huntsville Museum of Art, originally scheduled for June 5, has been rescheduled for Thursday, June 19. The van leaves at 10:45 a.m. After the museum visit, the group will go to lunch at Victoria's. Messiah Lutheran Church * The 12th annual church picnic will take place at the small pavilion at Monte Sano State Park on Sunday, June 22, immediately following the late service.
