Madison Christian Church * A two-hour canoe trip scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 2. Cost is $11, $5 for 5-10 year olds. Meet at the church at 8 a.m. For more information, www.elkrivercanoes.com. * Intermediate guitar classes will be during the summer on Thursday evenings. The cost is $40 per person. The tentative schedule is: Aug. 7 and Aug.21. Classes begin at 7 p.m.
Asbury United Methodist Church * The youth ministry will have a workday on Saturday, Aug. 2, beginning a t 9 a.m. * The youth ministry will meet a Five Points Monday, Aug. 4, at 5 p.m. to go to the Fourth Watch concert. * Saturday, Aug. 16, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. will be spirit day at Camp Sumatanga. * The seventh-twelfth grade quarterly parent meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24. The youth leadership team meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. * A teacher resource workshop will be held on Friday, Aug. 8, from 6 -8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 9, from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. A light supper will be served Friday evening, and pastries and fruit will be served on Saturday morning. Reservations are required and must be received by July18.
