Bob Jones' Randolph commits to Alabama

His commitment was the second of the week for Crimson Tide head coach Anthony Grant. Russell County’s Rodney Cooper also announced last week that he would sign with Alabama in November.
The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Randolph helped lead Bob Jones to the Class 6A state championship last season on his way to being named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s Super Five team.
Randolph has been the focus of a long list of college basketball programs, including in-state schools Alabama, Auburn and UAB. He was also being recruited by Southeastern Conference schools Georgia, Florida and Vanderbilt.
Georgia Tech and Miami also offered Randolph scholarships.
Randolph is currently listed as the 32nd best player in the nation by Rivals.com.
Randolph averaged 23 points and six rebounds per game for the Patriots, who finished 20-14 overall.
Bob Jones finished with a 20-11 mark after Randolph scored 20 points to help the Patriots knock off top-ranked Homewood 61-45 in the Class 6A state championship game in Birmingham in March.
He was named the state tournament’s most valuable player.
The commitment is non-binding since players are not able to sign national letters-of-intent until the early signing period beginning November 10.
