Raku pottery part of workshop

A raku pottery workshop is planned for July 10 at 16 and Main.
The class will be held from 1-5 p.m. Raku is a ceramic firing process that involves large flames, glowing pots and lots of smoke. The results are brilliant colors and metallics and intricate crackles on each piece. With the guidance of local potter Ned Corron, participants will glaze and fire three raku pots to keep.
The class is limited to eight participants and no pottery experience is required. Cost is $60 and includes all materials.
16 and Main is located at 16 Main Street in Madison, the former site of Clay House Museum. Call 256-325-4253 for more information.
