Madison YBOA team wins title

The Alabama Cougars 9U and 10U boys’ basketball team of Madison participated in the Youth Basketball of America National Championships held in Kissimmee, Fla. June 26- July 3.
Both teams are led by head coach, Christopher Lewis. The assistant coaches are Richard Johnson, Antoine Sales and Darrell Long.
The 9U team finished as the Division I runner-up.
The 9U team members are: Joshua Lewis, Jaydon Hill, Isaiah Green, Jarvis Graham, C.J. Sales, Caleb Johnson, Maxwell Perkins, Webber Long, James Hester, Jr. and Ramy Haggag. Joshua Lewis and Isaiah Green were all-tournament selections and Jarvis Graham won the hustle award.
The 9U team also participated in the YBOA National Championships Skills Contest. Isaiah Green was the Runner-Up in the 3-Point Shootout, Jarvis Graham won the Hot Shot Competition and Joshua Lewis won the Free Throw Competition. The Alabama Cougar team won the Team Shooting Competition. Jaydon Hill won the Student Athlete Academic Award.
The 10U team won the Division II national championship.
The 10U team members are Gavin Lewis, Kobe Brown, Au’Diese Toney, A.J. Horton, T. Collins, Chancellor Kelly, Jalen Taylor, Logan Long and J. Patton.
Au’Diese Toney and T. Collins were all-tournament selections and J. Patton won the hustle award.
Gavin Lewis was the tournament most valuable player.
The 10U team from Madison also participated in the YBOA National Championships Skills Contest. Logan Long finished second in the Hot Shot Competition.
