Robert Roy Rogers of Harvest passed away Saturday from cancer.

He was born in Flint, Mich., on Feb. 2, 1945, to Everett and Mary Rogers. He furthered his education and training, including his pilot’s and instructor’s license during his service with the U.S. Army.

As a chief warrant officer, Mr. Rogers served with the U.S. Army, including deployment in Vietnam and Bosnia. He gave service to the National Guard and Army Reserves for a great number of years. Robert retired from the Georgia FAA Flight Inspection Department in 2007. Immediately following his retirement, he tutored for the Literacy Foundation.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bobbie Jean Rogers; his son, Scott Rogers; daughter, Christina Strehle; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at Berryhill Funeral Home at 4 p.m. on Friday. The Rev. James Harrell will officiate.
