Heman Bucy; Aug. 28, 2010

Heman L. Bucy, 82, of Madison died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at his residence, after a very short battle with cancer.

Mr. Bucy served in the U.S. Army. He served as a fireman in Los Alamos, N.M. ,in the early 1950s, prior to beginning his government career, as a Fire and Safety Specialist for the Veterans Administration, serving in Durham, N.C., and retiring in Gainesville, Fla., in 1982.

Mr. Bucy is survived by his wife, Christine Bucy; two daughters, Linda Cheryl Williams and husband Thomas of Erie, Colo., and Janet Lee Toney and husband Byron Ross of Albuquerque, N.M.; a grandson, Steven B. Williams and wife Melissa of Louisville, Colo.; three granddaughters, Tanya M. Triber and husband Charles of Ashville, N.C.; Ashlee C. Renz-Hotz, and husband Janos of Albuquerque; and Amber N. Toney of Albuquerque; and three great-granddaughters. He is also survived by two sisters, Anita Mullins of Dawson Springs, Ky., and Nova Jean Stokes of Weddington, N.C.; two brothers, John W. Bucy and wife Deannie of Madison and Theron N. Bucy and wife Mollie of Clearwater, Fla.

A memorial service was at 3 p.m. Sept. 9 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Huntsville with Bro. Ron Madison officiating.

Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville is assisting the family.
