Ryan Joseph Winkelmann; Jan. 6, 2013

Ryan Joseph Winkelmann, age 24, was born April 9, 1988 in Fulda, Germany.

He went to be with our Heavenly Father on Sunday, Jan. 6.

Ryan resided in Madison until joining the Army Infantry in 2006. He served two tours in Iraq and was heavily decorated, to include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.

At the time of his death, Ryan was stationed at Ft. Myer in Arlington, Va.

Ryan was full of life, and loved his family and many friends. He was loyal, caring, and inspired everyone he knew. He lived by the code of loving God, family, friends, and country.

Ryan left many precious and unforgettable memories with everyone that was a part of his life. He touched countless lives with his amazing spirit and beautiful soul. Ryan will be loved, missed, and never forgotten by all. Rest in peace sweet Ryan.

Ryan is survived by his loving wife:, Nikole Winkemann and unborn child; daughter, Kinsey Winkelmann; father and step-mother, Joseph and Diana Winkelmann; mother and step-father, DeLourdes and David Booker; grandparents, Jack and Marcie Isom, and David and Irmgard Booker; brothers, Dylan Booker and Keagan Winkelmann; sisters, Savanah Booker, Sydney Booker, Shelby Booker and Jenna Winkelmann; godparents, Paul Hughes and Jan Beier; nine aunts and eight uncles, a host of cousins, extended family, many loving friends, and a very loyal dog and companion, His Boy Blue.

Viewing will be at Berryhill Funeral Home in Huntsville on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at St. Mary of the Visitation on Jefferson St in Huntsville on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens on University Drive in Huntsville.
