Women’s Economic Development Council plans conference at Westin

HUNTSVILLE – The Women’s Economic Development Council will present their fall conference, “Your Journey to Great Leadership & Capitalizing on Your Strengths,” on Nov. 13-14.

The event’s venue will be The Westin Huntsville. Lane Fabby is chairperson for the event that will strive to empower individuals to reach their full potential.

“This event is like none other. Attendees will receive more than get their money’s worth,” Leigh Christian with Aetos Systems said. “Speakers are of the highest caliber.”

Feature speakers will include retired admiral Vern Clark, former Chief of Naval Operations, presenting “The Truth About Leadership”; Edie Hand, CEO, Hand N’ Hand Advertising Inc., “Building Your Strand of Life Pearls”; and Lane Fabby, Director of Operations, Frew & Associates, “Strengths-Based Leadership.”

CEO Dr. Pam Hudson from Crestwood Medical Center, CEO Dr. Deborah Barnhart at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center and at least six other executives also will speak.

Attendees will receive a test and review of personal strengths, four books, networking and informative sessions. “We hope companies will consider sponsoring this event by purchasing registrations for people in their company,” Christian said.

“Emerging Leader” sessions are designed for the woman who wants to learn new management skills, build a network and be inspired by great leaders, Fabby said.

“Transitioning Leader” sessions will help women “define their passion, build confidence, expand their network and strengthen a leadership toolbox full of performance variables and skills needed to embark on a new journey,” Fabby said.

“Executive Leader” sessions will benefit the woman who values continuous growth, discovering new strategies, collaboration with peers and mentoring, Christian said.
