Clarence “Doc” Auchter December 11, 1924 – November 2, 2014

Clarence “Doc” Auchter, 89, of Madison, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014. Mr. Auchter was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison, AL. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II. He retired as a Design Engineer with United Tech. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Auchter; parents, Bernard and Matilda Auchter; and sisters, Ruth Somers, Helen Peterburg, and Loretta Hernday; and brother, Raymond Auchter.

Survivors include daughters, Suzanne Auchter, Kathleen Walliser (Joe), and Debra Crabtree (Greg); grandchildren, Alan Walliser, Jeremy Walliser (Malea)and Samantha Winslow (Grant), and Anna Crabtree, Bill Crabtree (Amanda), David Crabtree and John Crabtree; great-grandchildren, Nora, Sarah and Charlotte Walliser and Eloise Winslow; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. There was a private family graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
