Lifting up our law enforcement officers

From the Publisher

Our wounded law enforcement officers need our help.

Wounded Blue, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to support officers injured in the line of duty with financial, emotional and job retraining needs. Freda Muncey and her husband, Madison Police Chief Larry Muncey, founded this very important organization in 2013.

Wounded Blue, Inc. partners with other organizations around the state to help accomplish these goals locally and statewide. Wounded Blue, Inc. is supported 100 percent by volunteers and funded by private donations.

The current volunteer officers include: Freda Muncey (President), Karen Morris (VP), Lane Fabby (VP), Debbie Overcash (VP), Jennifer Schwartz (Secretary) and Paula Cushman (Treasurer).

We should commend the efforts of all volunteers and donors – private and corporate – that support this tremendous cause. Our law enforcement officers place their lives in harm’s way to serve and protect our community.

Wounded Blue, Inc. offers us a way to give back when they need us the most.

The organization’s annual benefit is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12, at The Westin Hotel at Bridge Street.

The entertainment will be the Purple Ravens, Madison’s own pop-music band.

Please consider registering for the benefit and offering your support. This event will be an enjoyable evening celebrating some of our bravest men and women.
