It is with great sadness that the family of Tina Williams Lomax announces her passing after a brief illness, Feb. 28 at the age of 47 years.

A native of Gadsden, “Williams” – as she was called by her special friends, Tana (Taliaferro) Bowers, Kelley “Taylor” McKoy and Tina “Collins” Rutledge – was a 1988 graduate of Emma Sansom High School, where she was a member of the Rebel Marching Band Color Guard. There was never a dull moment when Williams was around. Her laughter was infectious to all who were around her. If you ever had the privilege to hang out with Williams, you might have ended up in trouble, but you had a good time getting there, and you always had a great story to tell for later.

Although after high school she had many health issues, she always found a way to take care of and provide for her family, no matter the circumstances. She never stopped laughing, she was always loving and caring, and family and friends always knew she would have their back. Her smile, her wittiness and her red lipstick will be missed by many.

Tina will be lovingly remembered by her husband and soul mate of 23 years, Randy Jr.; her two amazing sons, Joshua Ryan and Jayce Landon; her beautiful daughter, Lia Lomax; and precious grandchildren Keaton Lomax and Qadir Cooke. She also leaves behind her brother Charlie (Winifred) Williams, sisters Cheryl Williams Greene and Kelley Williams Thomas and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dewayne and Jean Williams, and grandmother, Viva Williams.

A memorial service was held March 4 at 2 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home in Gadsden. Pastor Allen Hudson officiated.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Bob Jones High School and wrestling team for the support they have shown through this difficult time.
