HUNTSVILLE – The Von Braun Center (VBC) is excited to announce job openings for its new on-site restaurant, Rhythm on Monroe.  In advance of the opening in early March, Rhythm will host a Job Fair in partnership with Spur Staffing at the restaurant and rooftop bar on Feb. 3-4, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

“Rhythm on Monroe brings a unique dining element to the boom in Downtown Huntsville and the Greater Tennessee Valley,” remarked Rhythm on Monroe General Manager Stephen Ryberg. “We want everyone to Find their Rhythm and Feed their Rhythm at the corner of Monroe and Clinton.  We plan to hire between 75-100 exciting team members and look forward to interacting with prospective candidates at the job fair.”

In a video presentation on October 29 during a press conference inside the Propst Arena, the official name and logo for Rhythm on Monroe were revealed for the first time, along with updated renderings from the architectural firm, Matheny Goldmon.

Stephen Ryberg accepted the appointment as General Manager at Rhythm on Monroe in September 2019 by the Von Braun Center and its Board of Control.  Previously the Director of Operations and General Manager at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Huntsville, Ryberg has over 30 years of experience in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Development and Operational Consulting.

“Following the official announcement, there immediately was a resounding show of anticipation and support that we feel grows every day,” continued Ryberg. “The team at the VBC is similar to the rhythm of a band and is working diligently to ensure we continue to provide another exceptional place to dine and entertain in Huntsville.”

Rhythm on Monroe will be a full-service restaurant and rooftop bar, located in the Von Braun Center at the corner of Clinton Avenue and Monroe Street.  Rhythm, aptly named for the different types of musical performances hosted at the VBC, will serve locally-sourced ingredients and provide fresh urban fare through a menu developed and executed by Chef Andrew Vogt. Rhythm will also feature craft brews, a curated wine list, and handmade cocktails that guests will be able to enjoy while lounging near fire pits at the rooftop bar overlooking Big Spring Park and Huntsville’s unique cityscape.

“Rhythm will be the perfect spot for a pre-show dinner, after-show cocktails, or just a great dining spot when you’re out and about,” remarked Von Braun Center Executive Director Steve Maples.  “The expansive open views on the rooftop bar will be a great place to watch the sun set over Downtown Huntsville!”

Rhythm on Monroe will open March 2020.  Additional details about the official opening are coming soon at the new website rhythmonmonroe.com.

“This is an exciting time, not only for the Von Braun Center, but for the Tennessee Valley region,” continued Maples.  “The City of Huntsville is developing at a rapid pace and is constantly attracting out-of-market visitors and enhancing the quality of life for local residents.  Adding a full-service restaurant to our entertainment center in the heart of the city is an important step in continuing that growth, and we could not have made this happen without the support of Mayor Tommy Battle and the City of Huntsville.”

The addition of Rhythm on Monroe, as well as Mars Music Hall, is part of an ongoing expansion project, approved by the Huntsville City Council in June 2017, that will ultimately include a new ballroom and multi-purpose space; renovation of the existing North Hall; the addition of breakout meeting spaces and more.  The ground breaking for the restaurant and music hall took place on August 15, 2018.
