Virtual candidate forum for municipal elections to be held Aug. 11 and12

Madison and Huntsville candidates for the Aug. 25 municipal elections will have an opportunity to explain platforms next week. A virtual candidate forum that includes both the mayoral candidates and city council candidates for both communities Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Aug. 12.

On Aug. 11, the Huntsville mayoral candidates will speak at 6 p.m. and Madison City mayoral candidates will speak at 7:30.

On Aug. 12, Huntsville City Council candidates running for Districts 1 and District 5 will speak at 6 p.m. and Madison City Council candidates running for Districts 1 through District 6 will speak at 7:30.

The municipal elections will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 25.  Normal polling places will be open from 7 am to 7 pm.

The Municipal Candidate Forum is sponsored by three area non-partisan organizations:  American Association of University Women, The League of Women Voters and United Women of Color.
