MADISON- The boys of the James Clemens track program are racing through the young 2021 season and remain undefeated after wins in the first three meets of the year including the most recent James Clemens Invitational. The Jets won their own invitational meet, which was the largest one-day event in years, by defeating 22 other programs, while the Lady Jets earned a runner-up trophy finishing behind Huntsville in the girl’s division of the track and field meet held at James Clemens High.

Individually, Sparkman High senior Johnny Holloway continued his dominance by winning both the 100 and 200-meter sprints in boys and Madison Rose of James Clemens took home the gold medal in the long jump while earning other medals in both the 100 and 200 races. As for a team, James Clemens swept all three top places in the boys triple jump. Led by Willie Campbell in first place, he was followed by teammates Kendall Russell and Michael Ross.

The final team standings in boys had James Clemens on top with 162 points followed by runner-up Huntsville with 126.50 points. Additional schools included: 6. Sparkman 36, 20. Bob Jones 2, and 23. Madison Academy 1. In girls, Huntsville took the championship trophy scoring 126.5 points with James Clemens in second as the Jets posted 97.5 points. Additional teams included 3. Sparkman 56, 4. Bob Jones 55 and 18. Madison Academy 8.
