City council to interview school board candidates tonight

MADISON – The Madison City Council will interview four Madison City School Board of Education candidates tonight (April 21) at City Hall, 200 Hughes Road, in the council chambers. The four candidates are Dr. Florencia (Flo) Behn, Paul Lambertson, Rebecca Colon-Franz and Alice Lessmann.

Lessmann has served in the position since former school board president stepped down last year after winning her election for city council.

City officials said the public is can attend, but to avoid distraction during the interview process doors to the interview room will be closed once an interview begins and those wishing to attend may only enter at the beginning or exit at the conclusion of each interview.  No questions from the public will be permitted, and masks are required.

The schedule for the interviews is:

  1. 5:30 – 6:15 Dr. Florencia (Flo) Behn
  2. 6:15 – 7:00 Paul Lambertson
  3. 7:30 – 8:15 Rebecca Colon-Franz
  4. 8:15 – 9:00 Alice Lessmann
