Obituary – Thomas Lee Bennett

Thomas Lee Bennett

June 13, 1943 – November 25, 2021

Thomas Lee Bennett, 78, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday. He was born in Leon, Iowa on June 13, 1943.

Tom graduated with a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Arizona State University. He was an Air Force Captain until his entrepreneurial spirit led him to Huntsville where he spent the last two decades of his career supporting PEO Aviation.

A husband, father, friend and mentor, Tom was a good, giving Christian man. He loved his family with all his heart. He would tell you he was happiest around his grandchildren, when all gathered together to eat, share stories, and laugh. He is now rejoicing in Heaven with friends and family. Tom is deeply loved and will be missed forever.

Tom is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Ann Bennett; children, Kimberly and David Byrge, Tyler and Teresa Bennett, and Jennifer and Tyler Trent; grandchildren, Kayla Byrge, Seth Bennett, Lindsey Lee Byrge Miller (and Kennedy), Grace Bennett, Noah Trent, and Molly Bennett; brother, Allan and Neda Bennett; and sisters, Marcia and John Chastain, and Mary and Mark Sharp.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date via social media.
