MADISON – The Madison on Track 2045 initiative has scheduled Community Vision Workshops and follow-up meetings for residents on July 25-29.

Madison on Track 2045 involves community-based planning to shape Madison’s future by updating the city’s Comprehensive Plan. As a comprehensive plan, Madison on Track 2045 will be a policy document for use by city leaders, developers, business owners and citizens to make decisions about future growth, development, policy and capital improvements.

A week of intensive community planning has been scheduled for July 25-29. Residents can attend one of three community workshops, stop in at an open house or visit at the downtown farmers’ market to share ideas, reflect on input and provide feedback on plan direction.

Community Vision Workshops on July 26-27 held in three different locations will have the same agenda. Interactive discussion will include a series of exercises to help the community begin to envision ways that Madison will evolve, based on existing conditions, growth trends and future projections. All ages welcome.

* Community Visioning Workshop #1 – Meet in Council Chambers at City Hall, 100 Hughes Road on July 26, 1:30 to 3 p.m.

* Community Visioning Workshop #2 – Meet at Toyota Field in Trash Panda Club Room, 500 Trash Panda Way on July 26, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

* Community Visioning Workshop #3 – Meet at Insanity Complex in VIP Room, 100 Skate Park Drive on July 27, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

* Shared Progress Open House – Meet in Council Chambers at City Hall, 100 Hughes Road on July 28, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Residents can stop by and visit with project team members for Madison on Track 2045 and “see what progress has been made during planning week in Madison.” (madisonontrack2045.com)

Participants can review feedback from residents during the week’s workshops and provide guidance on the draft vision, planning principles and plan direction. All ages are welcome. The session does not include a formal presentation. Residents can visit at any time during the 90-minute Open House.

* Downtown Madison Farmers’ Market Pop-up Event — In the Garner Alley between Main and Martin streets on July 29, 3 to 6 p.m. Visit the farmers’ market to talk to project team members with Madison on Track 2045. See the progress made during planning week.
