Huntsville Ballet announces 2022-23 season, to present Cinderella in April

Huntsville Ballet recently announced they will open the 2022-2023 season with the much anticipated HBC Unplugged, The Nutcracker, HBC Off-Stage and Cinderella. Unplugged and Off-Stage will be held at the Dream Theater in Huntsville, while the Nutcracker and Cinderella will be held at the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall at the VBC.

The Dream Theater is located on the campus of the Rock Family Worship Center, 3401 Holmes Ave in Huntsville.

HBC UNPLUGGED
October 21 – 23, 2022
Dream Theater

Includes the world premiere of the Tumbleweed Suite, choreographed by Artistic Director, Phillip Otto. Inspired by George Balanchine, this energetic new piece of choreography captures the spirit of the old west infusing classical ballet with traditional western themes and American folk dancing.

A question-and-answer session with the dancers and director will follow each performance. Additional works to be announced.

The Huntsville Ballet Company celebrates the season with their 54th annual production of The Nutcracker with special guests, The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. This holiday classic has become an enduring Huntsville tradition.Clara’s enchanting story comes to life at the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall with Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, masterful choreography, enchanting scenic designs, brilliant lighting, and stunningly crafted costumes.
All students performing are registered students at the Huntsville Ballet School.

HBC OFF-STAGE
February 17-19, 2023

Dream Theater

The Best of Huntsville Ballet Company will feature Pas de Deux, Variations, and sections of popular works such as Stage Door Canteen, Romeo and Juliet, and more. A new work will also be presented. A question-and-answer session with the dancers and director will follow each performance.

The Huntsville Ballet Company takes the stage of the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall in April 2023 with a performance of Cinderella. One of the most famous and beautiful ballets of all time, Huntsville Ballet Company tells the timeless story of Cinderella with majestic beauty and magical sets and costumes. Cinderella is a servant to her evil stepsisters until her fairy godmother helps her win the love of a prince. Cinderella will transport you to a land where dreams are made.
