Madison Visionary Partners and Opera Huntsville to present free opera program at Home Place Park

MADISON – Madison Visionary Partners (MVP) and Opera Huntsville will present Opera in the Park, a free performance at Home Place Park, located at 100 Shorter Street in Madison. It will be held Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Parking will be located at the Madison City Schools stadium.

 

Grab a chair or blanket and enjoy iconic opera arias and musical theater favorites in a family-friendly atmosphere in Madison’s newest park. Featuring five professional singers accompanied by pianist Christopher Powell, this one-hour program is sure to bring smiles to the audience. Music includes popular pieces from “Phantom of the Opera,” “La Traviata,” “Carmen,” and more. 

 

“Madison Visionary Partners is excited to bring this new event to Madison,” said Melanie Thornton, Executive Director of MVP. “One of the things that is integral to MVP’s success as a nonprofit is collaborative partnerships. We support events in Madison that not only enhance the quality of life, but build community engagement through the arts.”

 

Food trucks Get Loaded, Park and Perk as well as Zion Gourmet Popcorn will be on site so attendees can purchase a tasty treat or dinner.
