Discovery of woman’s body in Hazel Green leads to investigation of possible murder-suicide

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MSCO) said an investigation of a death near Hazel Green led to the discovery of what appears to be a tragic murder-suicide involving children.
According to the MCSO, deputies responded to a welfare check on Chelle Mill Lane near Hazel Green around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday night. When they arrived, they found a female dead inside the residence.
Investigators identified the female as Jennifer Lepore, 43, of Hazel Green. The exact cause of death, as well as how long she has been dead, is pending autopsy results.
Investigators said they learned that Lepore’s husband, Jamie Lepore, 46, of Hazel Green, and their two kids had not been seen recently. They were able to determine a possible location for Mr. Lepore in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and contacted Murfreesboro Police Department for assistance.
“Officers with their agency went to an address to attempt to locate Mr. Lepore and the kids,” a press release from the MCSO stated. “They discovered what appears to be a murder-suicide involving Mr. Lepore and the two children, Jesse Lepore, 9 years old, and Sean Lepore, 11 years old.”
Sheriff’s Office investigators are working with Murfreesboro Police investigators to piece together all the details and timeline of events. “It is truly a tragic situation to lose an entire family, especially in this manner. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the victims,” Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner said.
