Bob Jones AFJROTC excels at Hoover Drill Competition

MADISON – The Air Force Junior ROTC or AFJROTC Drill Team from Bob Jones High School competed in the Hoover High School Annual Drill Competition on Jan. 28.

Bob Jones Drill Team swept the competition and placed in all events. The culmination of the contest saw the Bob Jones team earning the Grand Champion title. Additionally, several of the team commanders received personal awards for their outstanding leadership.

Bob Jones’ performance was outstanding in each event: Unarmed Flight Drill, first place; Armed Flight Drill, second; Unarmed Squad, first; Armed Squad, second; Unarmed Color Guard, second; and Unarmed New Cadet Squad, first.

Four of the students won Commander trophies: Audrey Groger/Unarmed Flight, first place; Lucy Halter/Armed Flight, second place; Logan Jackson/Unarmed Squad, second; and Cate Curry/Armed Squad, second.

The Blue Knights from Bob Jones finished as Grand Champions of the Drill Competition in the Hoover event.
