UAH moves up to No. 9 in NFCA national rankings

HUNTSVILLE – The University of Alabama in Huntsville softball team has moved into the top 10 of the NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll with a ranking of No. 9 in this week’s updated rankings.

The Chargers are one of two teams from the South Region in the top 10 in the nation, as Tampa remained in third with a record of 11-0.

Valdosta State came in at No. 11, followed by Saint Leo at No. 22 to round out programs from the South Region ranked in the NFCA Top 25.

UAH enters the week with a 16-4 overall record and a 5-1 mark in Gulf South Conference play, after most recently taking two-of-three at Montevallo this past weekend.

The Chargers continue GSC play this weekend at Charger Park, as UAH and West Florida have moved up the three-game series to be a single game Friday at 4 p.m. followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m.
