MADISON – Matt Curtis of Matt Curtis Real Estate Inc. is the first realtor to join Giveback Homes, which transforms real estate transactions into dramatic changes in housing for worthy families.

Currently, Giveback Homes has building projects from Nicaragua to Los Angeles and Dallas (givebackhomes.com). “Our goal is to build 100 homes this year. With Matt’s help, we’re well on our way,” spokesperson Caroline Pinal said.

“As a Giveback Home Realtor, Curtis will be leading the charge to turn all his clients into humanitarians by donating a percentage of each commission earned to building a home for a family in need,” Pinal said.

From every closing, Curtis will donate a set dollar amount. “We’ll build one home for every 100 closings. Based on our projected sales and the year’s goals, we plan on building two homes,” Curtis said.

Each realtor’s contribution goes directly to Habitat of Humanity, and “100 percent goes directly to building homes in the field. None is taken for administrative or marketing fees,” Pinal said.

Curtis joined Giveback Homes because he believes “to whom much is given, much is expected. Since we’re in the housing business, providing housing to fellow humans in need is a great way to invest in others’ lives.”

Curtis is the first and founding member for Alabama. “If more local realtors join the movement, we can potentially start a building project in/near Madison, too,” Pinal said.

“Matt is genuine and passionate — exactly the kind of member we want representing Giveback Homes,” founder Blake Andrews said. “He’s will hopefully inspire others to join the movement, too.”

Curtis was ranked as number one agent in the Madison market and nominated for the nation’s top 50 Realtors younger than 30. He doubled 2013 sales.

Curtis and wife Courtney have lived in Madison since 2005. Their children are Calli, 9, Bryce, 7, and Macy, 3.
