Voters head to the polls today in postponed runoff election
MADISON – Voters finally get the chance today to choose who will face Doug Jones in the state’s US Senate race this November. The runoff election, which was originally scheduled for March 31, was moved to July 14 because of the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Voters will decide between Jeff Sessions and Tommy Tuberville, who held a slight lead in the first primary election.
In Madison County, voters will also held decide the Republican contest between Beth Kellum and Will Smith for Court of Criminal Appeals Judge Place 2; and between Tom Brandon and Tim McNeese for Madison County Commission District 1.
A Democratic runoff will decide the race between Violet Edwards and Jeshenry Malone for Madison County Commission District 6.
