Davidson blends bowling, bass clarinet and dance

MADISON – Adeline Hope Davidson pursues athletic programs that are dramatically different, along with performing as an accomplished clarinetist.

At Fitness Arts Center, Adeline studies Irish dance. “I’ve been a member of Fitness Arts Center Performance Team for the last six years. I’ve performed in two ‘Irish Nutcracker’ programs,” Adeline said.

She advanced to dance level seven in preliminary championships at Fitness Arts Center. “I’ve really enjoyed performing at Panoply Arts Festival, International Festival at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and events sponsored by North Alabama Irish Society,” she said.

At Madison Bowling Center, she participates in a youth league. Adeline has placed in several tournaments and advanced to the 2015 National Junior Gold Tournament. She was chosen Youth Bowler of the Year four times and was selected for All-City Team during two school years.

Currently, Adeline holds an average of 164. She plans to join her high school bowling team.

This year, Adeline finished eighth grade at St. John the Baptist Catholic School. She participated in Drama Club and Book Club for one year, inducted into National Junior Honor Society and played in band for four years.

Playing bass clarinet, she was selected for Honor Band with UAH, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Samford University, along with Private School Honor Band. For 2016-2017, Adeline was chosen St. John’s “Outstanding Woodwind Player.”

“I achieved a superior rating for all four years at District Solo and Ensemble competition,” she said. She performs with Madison Clarinet Choir.

“I moved in with my grandparents here in Madison in 2005. My grandfather is a retired contractor working at Marshall Space Flight Center. My grandmother will retire soon from United Launch Alliance,” Adeline said.

She has one sister who lives in England and two brothers who live in Georgia and Alabama.
