MADISON – In preparation for the 2016 event, Relay For Life of Madison will host the “Canvas and Color for a Cure” fundraiser on Dec. 10.

Picasso’s Grill, 12060 County Line Road will host this painting party at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35. Seating is limited.

“We are a group of experienced relay people serving the Madison community,” event lead Kelly Nielsen said. “We are excited and getting a great head start on the annual relay event scheduled for May 14, 2016 at Madison City Schools Stadium starting at 5 p.m. and running until 11 p.m.”

“Currently, we have 11 teams and 36 members that are committed and signed up and ready to make it happen,” Nielsen said.

The “Canvas and Color for a Cure” fundraiser will support local cancer victims, patients and survivors. Participants will paint and re-create their versions of “There’s Snowplace Like Home,” a whimsical depiction of a snowman’s face with a wide grin and oversized carrot nose.

Ticket price covers all painting supplies. Organizers will sell advance tickets only.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served, and a cash bar will be available. Participants also will be eligible for door prizes.

“Call 1-800-227-2345 for cancer information, any time, day or night. And please join us as we are planning for our 2016 Relay For Life event,” Nielsen said. “We save lives by helping people stay well by preventing cancer or detecting it early and helping people get well by being there for them during and after a cancer diagnosis.”
