MADISON – Rev. Dr. Laurentis Barnett at Divine Expressions Family Dentistry has received two impressive awards.

Barnett won the 2015 “Young Professional of the Year” award from the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County. In addition, he was selected as an industry leader in “40 Under 40,” a feature of “Incisal Edge” magazine.

The chamber’s judges “blindly looked at us from a business standpoint and from our contribution to the community,” Barnett said. “They focused on our achievements and growth in our companies and how we give back to the world.”

Learning about his chamber award, Barnett was completely shocked when his name was called — shocked even after reading his name on the video screen. “I looked at my mom and she was clapping. Is that my name?” he said.

“I looked at my grandmother and she was clapping really hard. I was like … that has to be my name,” Barnett said. “I’m humbled to be awarded this recognition and hope that it is an inspiration to all young professionals early in their career and students who aspire to be business owners.”

Barnett also was featured on the front cover of “Incisal Edge,” which has distribution across the United States. His honor was heightened by a trip to New York City for a magazine photo shoot.

He graduated from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. Previously, he has practiced dentistry in Brewton, Gilbertown and Florence.

“I love working in Madison. It’s growing really fast. I believe we have the best patients in the world,” Barnett said.

Barnett can help his patients with implants, full mouth makeovers and teeth straightening. “We make beautiful smiles!” he said. “We pride ourselves in creating an atmosphere that is warm, relaxing, family-oriented and at the state-of-the-art level.”
