Dr. Malhotra joins new Crestwood Family Practice: County Line Road

MADISON – Madison has a new physician. Dr. Shivani Malhotra has joined the opening of Crestwood Family Practice: County Line Road.

Malhotra’s address is 12100 County Line Road, Suite A-2.

The medical profession always has fascinated Malhotra. “It was perfect for me to combine my caring personality with the practical aspects and so have a major impact on people’s lives for betterment,” she said.

Choosing family medicine further enhanced Malhotra’s decision. The discipline “provides continuing and comprehensive health care for the individual, the family across all ages, genders and diseases. And most importantly, it gives me the opportunity to emphasize disease prevention and health promotion,” Malhotra said.

Malhotra sees patients of all ages, starting with four-year-olds. “We offer comprehensive family medicine services, well child visits, Medicare wellness visits, sports physicals and pap smears. We have an onsite blood draw facility for labs,” she said.

Malhotra completed medical school at Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College in Meerut, India. She entered the

University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine’s family medicine residency program at its Huntsville location. She relocated for residency from Atlanta and decided to stay.

“I practiced as a general physician in multi-specialty clinics and hospitals and had extensive clinical exposure in different parts of India for about nine years before coming to United States,” Malhotra said.

Her husband is a financial consultant with Suntrust Bank. The family also lives on County Line Road, site of her clinic.

“Madison is a wonderful place to raise a family, has excellent schools and lots of new developments,” she said. Their 13-year-old son attends Liberty Middle School, and their seven-year-old daughter is a student at Heritage Elementary School.

Malhotra is actively involved with Huntsville Indian Association. “I’m looking forward to joining the Madison County Medical Society and the medical association for the state of Alabama,” she said.

Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
