HUNTSVILLE – An inaugural event for The Salvation Army will serve some of the tastiest choices from local restaurants while raising funds to feed individuals whose food bowls are empty.

The Salvation Army’s “Empty Bowl” meal on April 20 will be held at Stone Event Center at Campus No. 805, 2620 Clinton Ave. in Huntsville. Event hours will be 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The “Empty Bowl” fundraiser for The Salvation Army of Huntsville will call upon some of Huntsville’s best caterers and most popular restaurants to provide a delicious selection of soups for dinner. Guests will sample up to four soups of their choice with a ticket purchase.

The meal can be a dine-in option at Stone Event Center or carry out to home to enjoy.

In addition, guests will have a chance to win handmade collector bowls and other door prizes.

Proceeds from the Empty Bowl will support The Salvation Army Soup Kitchen in feeding the hungry in the Huntsville and Madison County community. In 2016, The Salvation Army Kitchen served 125,979 meals to families, the elderly and individuals in need.
