MADISON – Overdue library books at Liberty Middle School can result in food for a hungry child with the “Food for Fines” drive.

Through May 1, library media specialist Sandy Brand will waive fines for any student who donates non-perishable food. “One item equals $1 waived,” Brand said.

“The food will be donated to the Asbury United Methodist Church food pantry which, in turn, uses the items to support the weekend food program in several of our schools in Madison,” Brand said.
