Girls to vie for Little Miss Rocket City Snowflake

MADISON – December 15 will belong to the girls as babies to teenagers vie for titles in the Little Miss Rocket City Snowflake pageant.

West Madison Elementary School, 4976 Wall Triana will host the contests from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each division can have a maximum of 10 contestants.

The pageant divisions for Little Miss Rocket City Snowflake will be “Baby,” newborn to three years; “Precious,” four to six years; “Little,” seven to nine years; “Preteen,” 10 to 12 years; “Young Teen,” 13 to 14 years; “Baby Mr.,” newborn to three years; and “Little Mr.,” four to six years.

All entrants in the pageant will participate in a group walkout on stage. Then, each individual entrant will walk for each division. “The walk will be a ‘front T.’ However, judges will not judge based on their walk,” spokesperson Danielle Hines said.

Honors for the contestants will include recognition for “Prettiest Eyes,” “Prettiest Hair,” “Prettiest Smile,” “Photogenic” and “Grand Supreme.”

Girls who win the awards for “Grand Supreme Overall” and “Division Queen” will receive a custom sash and crown. Judges also will select first and second alternates.

“Baby” and “Precious Miss” contestants will receive participation crowns. Side award winners will receive medals. The winner of “Photogenic” will earn a trophy.

Contestants can wear any type of pageant dress, short or long. “For hair and makeup, do not use fake hair, flippers or eyelashes. Makeup is OK for all ages, but please keep it age appropriate,” Hines said.

“No glitz … this is a natural pageant. Judges will be looking for a natural appearance,” Hines said.

Contestants should submit photogenic pictures that measure 8-by-10 or 5-by-7 inches with the contestant’s name and age on the back of each photo. Officials will return all pictures after the pageant.

Entry fee for Little Miss Rocket City Snowflake pageant is $80. Mail payments to Pageant Director Danielle Hines, 706 Larry Drive, Madison AL 35758 or visit PayPal for payments.

To hold a contestant spot, parents can choose to pay a deposit of $25. The contestant’s full entry fee must be paid by Dec. 6 by Paypal to rocketcitypageants@gmail.com. Sibling discounts are available.
