Professional magician Trace Cooper will present his show for the entire family at 2 p.m. in the auditorium. James Clemens Dance Team will perform at intermission.

“The dance team is providing this opportunity to the community to help cover performance expenses to state competition and raise money for our spring trip,” head coach Angela Clare said. “This event will be enjoyable, entertaining and fascinating for everyone of all ages.”

Cooper’s act includes classic illusions, audience participation, laughs and several surprises. He started learning magic tricks as a seven-year-old. First performing for friends and family, Cooper expanded was entertaining at birthday parties when he was 12 years old. Today, he holds 43 years of experience in magic.

A dance team member’s father, Cooper has three more daughters who currently or previously attended Madison Schools “He has had success (locally) with his performances. We thought this would be a great service to the community and earn money to support our team,” Clare said.

Away from his magic shows, Cooper works for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) on a NASA contract. He is a volunteer licensed firefighter and EMT and active in the music ministry at Asbury United Methodist Church.

Captain Meg O’Bryant and assistant Lizzi Joens lead the dance team’s 10 girls. The team performs in halftime shows on field with the band at football games and marching competitions, along with all of the Jets home basketball games.

Clare has taught in Madison for 21 years, currently for third grade at Columbia Elementary School. She founded the James Clemens Dance Team last year and has 12 years of coaching experience.
