Bob Jones AFJROTC cadets to terrify with Trunk or Treat

MADISON – A wickedly enjoyable time will permeate the brave souls who visit Trunk or Treat, hosted by the Elite Knights honor society with Air Force Junior ROTC at Bob Jones High School.

The JROTC cadets will brave the harrowing Halloween aura to present Trunk or Treat on Oct. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. All the young princesses, clowns and ninjas should report to the south parking lot at Bob Jones. The event is open to the community.

“We will also have food trucks available to the public,” Dr. Melissa M. Lacey said. A retired Major with the U.S. Air Force, Lacey instructs Senior Aerospace Science at Bob Jones.

At the event, vehicles that are not decorated should go to the north and Eastview parking lots.

Trunk or Treat will be one of the first events in community service that the Kitty Hawk Air Society coordinates. Kitty Hawk is Bob Jones’ chapter of the National Air Force JROTC Academic Honor Society. The air society spotlights the academic and community service achievements of AFJROTC cadets.

Cadets in Kitty Hawk Air Society earn educational, leadership and development opportunities. During the pledge period, cadets were required to memorize key components of the air society’s background. Kitty Hawk gives cadets a venue to complete activities that demonstrate the cadets’ character and dedication to the air society’s core values.

Air society cadets wear the society ribbon on their uniforms, along with a blue rope. To join the society, students must achieve a 3.0 unweighted grade point average and a 3.5 weighted GPA. Cadets must have completed two semesters of AFJROTC classes.

Charter members of Elite Knights include KHAS Commander Shaniya Lanier, KHAS Vice Commander Jackson Ford, Administrative Officer Quincy Amacher, Financial Officer Caleb Johnson, Sydney Baumbach, Brandon Clark, John Digges, Ethan Fury, Hannah Hazelwood, Ethan Horne, Nick Kim, Melody Spivey and Abigail Warren.
