MADISON – What if a child’s birthday party prevented malaria cases in Sudan or brought clean water to children in Central America?
Miles of Smiles Around the World offers an alternative to a traditional party setup.
Miles of Smiles provides its “Birthday Box.” The box doesn’t deliver the latest toys as gifts but allows the birthday boy or girl to improve the life of a peer who lives in an impoverished country, founder Carol Hale of Madison said.
“Instead of gifts, guests bring donations. Together, the birthday child and his or her friends chose the mission partner their money will help,” Hale said. The birthday box gives “your child the tools to be agents of global change, and your child and friends will have fun doing it.”
Parents don’t have to shop or plan for the party. “The invites, the decorations and the games all come packed in a box for a low-cost, around-the-world themed party. Friends bring donations that impact lives globally,” Hale said.
“Miles of Smiles is 200-percent ministry,” Hale said. “We are 100 percent about educating children in America about global health issues and helping the poor.”
Furthermore, Miles of Smiles is dedicated totally to help children in developing nations. “We want students to use knowledge as a springboard to dive into the deep waters of caring and active compassion,” Hale said.
“This ministry is dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our goal is to give children a chance to experience how it is more blessed, joyous, and significant to give rather than only receive,” she said.
Founded in 2012 and based in Madison, Miles of Smiles Around the World is a 501(c)3 organization that believes in partying with purpose. Children learn during structured, fun and educational programs that support domestic and international charity partners.
