Gliders to fly, compete in Harvest

HARVEST – The Southeastern Radio Control Glider event will be held Oct. 5-8 at Epps Airfield in Harvest.

Twenty-plus pilots will be flying their radio control gliders during this four-day event. Pilots will engage in practice fly sessions on Oct. 5 and 6. Then on Oct. 6-8, the focus shifts to competitive flying for the entrants’ gliders.

North Alabama Radio Control Flying Club or NARCA sponsors the event.

Epps Field is located at the intersection of Harvest Road and Carroll Road in the Harvest community. Pilots should use the entrance to the field on Carroll Road.

“This event is free and open to the public,” Cliff Lanham with NARCA Public Relations said.

Any pilot who wants to fly in this event should email Tim Batt at tbatt@knology.net or call Lanham at 256-325-3775.
