MADISON – James Clemens High School is closed today. All other campuses in the Madison district are open.

Athens Utilities has a power outage that affects James Clemens, located on County Line Road.

At Heritage Elementary School, principal Dr. Georgina Nelson issued this announcement:

Dear Heritage Families,

We are so sorry to hear that many of our families do not have power this morning. We have power here at Heritage and every classroom is warm and cozy.

Therefore, please bundle up your kiddos and bring to school. I promise you we will make certain everyone is warm and that everyone gets a warm meal on this very cold day. As we do every morning, we will serve breakfast. So, even if your child does not normally eat breakfast here we can make that happen.

Dr. Nelson
