Rocket City Jazz, Kaleidoscope in concert at Bob Jones

MADISON – Rocket City Jazz Orchestra and Kaleidoscope will perform a benefit concert at Bob Jones High School in Zompa Auditorium on Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.

All ticket sales from the concert will benefit UNICEF relief efforts for Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

Michaela Philip, a Bob Jones senior and chorus vice president, is organizing the event. “When I heard about the destruction caused by the hurricanes, I knew that I wanted to do something to help. Mobilizing both the generous spirit and great music that our community offers seems like the perfect way to make a difference,” she said.

According to UNICEF, Puerto Rico is in a state of crisis. In the wake of Hurricane Maria, mass flooding and destruction have put children throughout the island at risk. UNICEF mobilized to get immediate critical support as Emergency Relief Kits to children of Puerto Rico. UNICEF now is rushing shipments of fresh drinking water to families across the island.

UNICEF is a global leader in emergency response, last year reaching children in 344 humanitarian emergencies across 108 countries. Ninety percent of every dollar sent to UNICEF goes directly to helping children.

Stacy M. Tidwell serves as president of Bob Chorus Booster Board.
