Innovate Huntsville 2020 to feature Technology Roadshow, entrepreneur options

HUNTSVILLE – The Innovate Huntsville Week 2020 will focus on entrepreneurs and the business ecosystem in North Alabama and Huntsville on Feb. 24-28.

The Invention to Innovation Center or I2C at the University of Alabama in Huntsville will serve as an event venue. The intended audience will be innovators, entrepreneurs, owners of startup companies, creators and investors. The event is free to attend but participants should register.

Regional Innovators Sustaining the Ecosystem or RISE and I2C at 850 Ben Graves Drive on the UAH campus are bringing back the Technology Roadshow for Innovate Huntsville Week. The event will include an Angels of North Alabama Investment Forum, Urban Engine’s Co-Working Night, I2C Pitch Competition, activities with RISE and the prestigious Entrepreneurial Awards that The Catalyst will present.

Launched in May 2016, Innovate Huntsville Week has become an annual signature event. “Innovate Huntsville is a conglomerate of organizations who support Huntsville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and is active year-round. Innovate Huntsville Week is meant to shine a light on the resources that are available and inspire future entrepreneurs to establish their businesses in Huntsville,” Vickie Morris with RISE and Face to Face Marketing said.

This year’s presentations will involve diverse technologies:

* Identifying the origin of memory manufacturers and foundries by UAH.

* Methods for analog sanitization of flash memory system by UAH.

* On-chip radiation dosimetry by UAH.

* Variable power handheld laser torch by NASA.

* Tool for rapid identification of TCE in plants by NASA.

* Interim, in-situ additive manufacturing inspection by NASA.

“The roadshow is a fun and exciting event where the audience gets to see up close and personal the technologies of companies like NASA and UAH,” Morris said. “Many scientists and engineers, creators and makers right here in North Alabama are tasked to create technologies that serve the needs of their clients” and eventually benefit the public.
