MADISON – Sustaining their friendship since high school, two Madison women have earned notoriety for their fashion blog.

Courtney Bright and Stephanie Barger have known each other for almost nine years. Bright is a Madison native, while Barger’s family moved here during her middle-school years. They are alumnae of Bob Jones High School.

In college, they lived together for the first two years. “Courtney ended up moving back to Madison and finishing school online, yet we still talked every day. Now apart, we still talk every day,” Barger said. “Thank goodness for technology, right? There’s always a story to be told.”

Now a New York City resident, Bright works for Christian Siriano, having started as a production assistant and now assisting with sales and in-house public relations. “I’m married to Jason, an Arabic linguist in the army,” Barger said. “We live in Colorado Springs, Colo. and have a two-year-old son named Jackson. I’ve stayed at home with him for the past nine months.”

In February, Bright and Barger started their “Darling Two” blog. “It has become our little baby … our ‘home away from home’ where we continue to inspire each other and compare styles,” Bright said. “Our topics vary. Some days, it is focused on our outfits, and other days we just like to ramble about life.”

H&M department store chose the Darling Two blog to represent Alabama in their “50 States of Fashion” contest promoting the launch of their e-commerce site. “We were beyond shocked and excited when we were contacted by H&M. We aren’t bragging, but it’s pretty cool,” Barger said.

Barger and Bright uploaded fashion photographs of themselves in H&M apparel. “We love H&M because the prices are great, and they have so many pieces you can mix and match,” Bright said. “The store is basically an all-in-one shop.”
