Lambert leaves Liberty to work as Bob Jones assistant principal

MADISON – Sylvia Lambert, who has been working as assistant principal at Liberty Middle School, has accepted that same position at Bob Jones High School.

“I am excited to join Mr. Robby Parker and the Bob Jones team because I understand the school culture and rich tradition of providing opportunities for high academic achievement and personal growth for all of our students,” Lambert said.

Lambert taught for three years at Bob Jones before transferring to James Clemens High School at its opening. She served as special education department lead and taught ninth-and tenth-grade collaborative English and reading intervention classes.

In 2013, she accepted the assistant principal job at Liberty. Before teaching in Madison, she taught three years each in Memphis and Montgomery.

Lambert believes Bob Jones’ teachers and staff “are committed to providing the tools that the students will need to be competitive as they prepare to enter college, the military, vocational training or the world of work. This is an ever-changing challenge, and I look forward to working with such an exciting atmosphere.”

Curriculum and instruction will be her areas of focus at Bob Jones.

“I will be working with the guidance and counseling department and the special education team,” Lambert said. “I look forward to joining the administration team and teachers as we enter this new school year.”

She will work with Central Office employees to research and monitor curriculum programs and coordinate the master schedule and registration.

Lambert earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Mississippi, master’s degree at Auburn University at Montgomery and education specialist credentials at Alabama A & M University.

Her husband Mark Lambert teaches world history and coaches the girls’ basketball team at Monrovia Middle School.

Their son Daniel will complete his internship in July to graduate in German and international trade at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Daughter Shelby earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Samford University and works in the medical intensive care unit at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center.
