Dylan Ray Named To All-American Team

TUSCALOOSA- Former Bob Jones All-State baseball player Dylan Ray has continued receiving elite accolades in his freshmen year at the University of Alabama. The relief pitcher for the Crimson Tide was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound right hander was also selected to the Freshman All-SEC team after appearing in 18 games finishing with a 1-4 record with eight saves and a 4.60 ERA in his first season of action for the Crimson Tide. He came to Alabama as the state’s top rated prospect according to Prep baseball report. As a hitter for the Patriots, he was named the Class 7A Hitter of the Year while earning All-State honors.

Ray grew into the closer role for Alabama during the 2022 season. His 49 strikeouts led all Alabama relievers and ranked fifth overall on the team. In 31 innings on the mound he gave up just a .198 batting average.

Ray is officially a redshirt freshman after he suffered a season-ending injury prior to the start of the 2021 season.
