HUNTSVILLE- “Even though we must postpone our Memorial Day tradition of honoring our military who have lost their lives in service to our country, we are committed to honoring their sacrifice and dedicating our race to them on Labor Day, 2021. We look forward to seeing you there.”

Those statements came from the organizers for the annual Cotton Row Run that has been officially moved to Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 6 due to concerns for the participating runners, volunteers and spectators around the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic. Under the direction of the Huntsville Track Club the 41^st CRR is being moved to a more suitable date. Action starts and finishes at Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville.

The 2020 race was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Bill Penney Toyota returns as the title sponsor and will host the CRR’s Race Expo on Sunday, Sept 5. Hunter Johnson, general manager of Bill Penney Toyota located in Huntsville on University Drive, announced the dealership will be offer a brand new Toyota at this year’s race.

Additional major sponsors for the event that began in 1980 include Fleet Feet Sports, TOC Orthopaedics Spine & Sports Medicine and the City of Huntsville.

The Cotton Row Run is regarded as one of the top 10K races in the entire country and will offer race record incentives totally $20-thousand along with race prize money. The current 10K records for the CRR are: Male- 28:39 (2018), Female- 32:51 (2019), Male Master- 29:38 (2000), Female Master- 33:34 (2003).
