New event announced: Christmas on the River at Ditto Landing

Ditto Landing Executive Director Brandi Quick and Madison County Commissioner Phil Riddick announced yesterday the establishment of a new holiday event in South Huntsville – Christmas on the River at Ditto Landing.

They stated families will have the opportunity to:
• Stroll through Christmas Card Lane featuring 4’x 8” lit Christmas cards
• Visit the indoor holiday miniature train display at Santa’s Depot
• Buy their tree at the Tree Farm.
• Attend special weekend events in addition to the designated walk thru, drive thru and pet friendly nights during the week.

Special weekend events will include a fireworks night, “Deck the Docks”, food trucks, “Caroling at the State Docks”, and of course a visit from St. Nick. Other events are still in the planning stages.

Christmas on the River events will be free to the public from Dec. 2 – 31. During that time they will be accepting donations of pet supplies for the Greater Huntsville Humane Society and canned food items for Manna House.

“We are now inviting Madison County residents, businesses, and organizations to join us by sponsoring your own custom-designed Christmas Card along the Tennessee River Greenway,” Quick said. “Christmas Cards are 4’x8′ plywood pieces custom designed by you, your family or your company team – cost $200 per card. All proceeds will benefit the Ditto Landing Master Plan.”
