Law enforcement looking for escapee

A man serving a 21-year sentence for third-degree burglary in Madison County has gone missing from an assigned jobsite in Tuscumbia, and police are on the lookout for the subject.

Don Beretta Toney, who was sentenced to 21 years in prison on Oct. 22, 2003, was on work release in Tuscumbia Sept. 15 when authorities discovered that he had gone missing.

Toney is a 5’11, 190-pound black male.

Toney, who has served seven years, 10 months and 12 days of his 21-year sentence, was scheduled to go before a parole hearing in November.
