Barnes collects first career GSC Player of the Week award

HUNTSVILLE – Bob Jones High School graduate and UAH senior Isabelle Barnes was selected as one of the first Gulf South Conference weekly volleyball honorees of the 2019 campaign last week.  Barnes was picked as GSC Offensive Player of the Week.

This is Barnes first career GSC Player of the Week honor.

Prior to the selection, Barnes led the Chargers offense over four matches last weekend in Huntsville with 46 kills, a 3.54 kills per set average and a .476 hitting percentage.

The senior additionally excelled on the defensive end with a team-high 21 total blocks, while accruing at least 10 kills in each of the Chargers four victories to open the season.

Last season, Barnes was second in the conference with a .332 hitting percentage and ninth with 280 kills, as she garnered a D2CCA All-South Region nod.
